My dream job

Hello everyone 

My dream job is one that allows me to stay in contact with nature and at the same time get involved in politics. I imagine myself going around a large part of the country and doing a lot of trekking activities and working together with people and communities in order to give solutions to different problems. 

The skills I need for this job is first of all the scientific knowledge about what I should investigate. I also need the ability to communicate and coordinate with people, in many similar jobs they ask for a driver's license thinking about the constant movement to field work. 

Today I'm studying geography and it is a career that fully integrates all of the above. Specifically, I would like to specialize in water issues, so I think I would be constantly traveling around sectors close to water flows or in towns with water shortage problems.

Regarding the salary, it varies a lot depending on the sector where I work, either in a private company or in a public organization. In the private sector you can work in consulting firms and the salary would exceed 2 million Chilean pesos, while in the public sector the salary averages 1.5 million Chilean pesos.
